The Law of Attraction’s Biggest Mistake

The number one mistake made when trying to utilize the law of attraction is usually made when you find yourself experiencing hardships. Spiritual teachers always tell us that the most helpful step we can take is to choose how we react to stressful situations in our lives. They tell us that if we can respond to hard times with positive thoughts, all will be well. While I don’t disagree with this, I have found that negative thoughts are not actually the reason that so many people have failed when trying to use the law of attraction. You see the largest mistake you can make has little or nothing to do with what your mind is thinking. It has everything to do with how you are using your body.
Your Higher Self Is Doing Just Fine Without Your Input—Leave It Alone
In your life, you are always playing two games at once. You’re have to keep running totals in your head of two different streams of information. One stream of information we call, the Physical. The other we call the Spiritual. The mistake most people make is that they place too much importance on the spiritual and look beyond the world at the tip of their noses. I hear too many people everyday talking about having to connect to their “higher self” or their spiritual guides. They say that they are certain that the results they’re seeking will come to them if they could simply “open up” their mind, or “connect to the source.” If you’re one of these people, you may be making a grave mistake!
To assume that you are not properly connected, or are not properly communicating, with your “Source” or your “higher self” is ridiculous. You can never fail to communicate with that which you already are. I’ll repeat that because it’s important to remember: You cannot fail to communicate, or connect with that which you already are. I can’t help but shake my head and grin when I hear people attribute their lack of desirable results as being disconnected with their “higher self.” Your “higher self” is you, how could you ever be apart from it?
The problem has nothing to do with communication between you and your Source, your God, or your “higher self,” it has everything to do with the fact that you’ve become disconnected to your own physical body. Your God has been speaking to you the whole damn time, you’ve just neglected the tools for creation that you were given!
Your Tools for Creation
With the sudden explosion of the Law of Attraction into popular culture, people have begun to believe the lie that their thoughts are what are creating their reality. This is a lie! Your thoughts are only partially creating your reality and even that part is marginal in comparison with the percentage of your reality that is created by your physical actions. Your physical body and your actions are more creative than your thoughts will ever be because their results are immediate. Your thoughts may manifest your desires in months or years, while your body can manifest the same results in a matter of minutes or days. With this type of immediate power, how can people ignore their physicality?
I can’t tell you how many people try to loose weight by thinking “thin thoughts.” I can’t tell you how many people try to earn money by thinking “rich thoughts.” The joke’s on them though. They need to get their bodies involved with their thoughts to get the results they’re after. If you thought thin, while dieting and exercising, you’d loose weight. If you thought rich while actively pursuing a better job, you’d be rich. The problem isn’t so much laziness as it is people taking away the importance of the physical. Your body is you most immediate access to the physical world and the most powerful influence you have over this world. Why wouldn’t you utilize such a wonderful tool?
Religion and philosophy have spent centuries demonizing the physical body to the point that now we have come to think of the physical plane as being inferior, when nothing could be further from the truth. Christianity tells us that our real life waits in heaven and that this plane is fleetingly temporary and therefore is of little to no importance. We’re taught to deny the physical sensations we feel on earth and instead chase after our “higher self.” We’re taught that the spirit that resides inside us is full of wisdom that we can never attain until we detach ourselves from our flesh and bone. Nothing could be further from the truth.
I said it before, I’ll say it again because it is just that important: You cannot be separated from that which you already are.
The Biggest Mistake in the Law of Attraction.
How can you start making the law of attraction work for you? By taking the importance off of your thoughts and realizing that your thoughts, actions, feelings and words are all a package deal. You cannot get rid of one while embracing the other. If you think rich thoughts but spend more money than you make, you’ll never get rich. If you think thin thought while talking about how fat you are, you’ll never reach your weight loss goals. You must be firing on all cylinders or you’ll never reach your destination.
The biggest mistake people make is to ask, “What am I thinking wrong?”
Your thoughts aren’t the problem. You may be thinking good thoughts, but making bad decisions. You may be thinking good thoughts, but choosing poor words. Don’t ask what is wrong with your thoughts, ask what is wrong with your actions. Your actions are the single most powerful force available to you because they cause an immediate and irreversible reaction. Your thoughts are not yet manifest into reality and are therefore easily reversible. With the great power that lies in your physical actions you cannot hope to attract your desires into your life if your thoughts and actions are working against each other. This seems perfectly obvious when you step back from your problem and look at it objectively, but in the heat of battle most people turn to their thoughts to find the reason for their recent setback.
It is more likely that your physical actions have created your reality.
If your car suddenly breaks down, your thoughts are partially to blame, but a failure to properly maintain the car is probably the larger culprit. If you gain too much weight over the holidays, it has more to do with your eating and exercise habits than your feelings. Your actions speak louder than the law of attraction, but when combined they are a force that cannot help but bring you what you desire.
If you take nothing else from this post, take this: Be careful with your actions. They hold more power than your thoughts ever could.
