8 Best Books for Law of Attraction Beginners
October 3, 2007
I’m not the biggest proponent of the Law of Attraction, but I will say that, one way or another, changing your beliefs can change your life. In the last few years the personal development world has been inundated with “the Universe” and “the Law” but the theory behind it all has been written about for around eighty years, if not longer than that. Whether you like the metaphysics or not, your changes start with your mind and if you’re a beginner I have a great list for you. These are eight of what I consider to be the best books for the law of attraction beginner. The Law isn’t all there is to personal development, but it’s certainly one place to start.
8 Top LoA Books for Beginners
- The Power of Your Subconscious Mind - Joseph Murphy’s million-copy-selling book about how your thoughts manifest is a powerful gateway drug into the Law of Attraction. The book’s strong point is the number of mental exercises it outlines to help you change your negative beliefs.
- The Science of Getting Rich - Wallace Wattles gives a basic outline to how your mind can change your life. While not as practical as Joseph Murphy, this book is still a great place to start.
- Think and Grow Rich - A great practical finance book, Napoleon Hill does an incredible job of laying out goal setting and belief changing exercises. Think and Grow Rich is a book about using the law of attraction in real life.
- Law of Attraction: The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don’t - I won’t lie to you, this book is something of a joke, but I recommend it here because it’s a good way to get you started on the law of attraction. The book is simplistic, but ultimately a quick and dirty entry level piece.
- Conversations with God : An Uncommon Dialogue (Book 1) - I am not a religious person, but I love this book. If Neale Donald Walsch is talking to God, it’s a God I can get behind. If not, Walsch may be one of the most brilliant spiritual teachers of our time.
- The Power of Intention - While a bit heavy handed on the spiritual / religious views, a lot of what Dr. Dyer has to say is quite wise.
- The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire: Harnessing the Infinite Power of Coincidence - If there is one spiritual teacher of our time that I respect above all others, it’s Deepak Chopra. In this book, Dr. Chopra describes the role that coincidences play in the manifestation of our future. This is a must have, whether you’re studying the Law of Attraction or not.
- The Law of Attraction: The Basics of the Teachings of Abraham - Getting past the “spirit channeling” aspect of Esther Hicks writing, the book is a must for anyone looking to study the law of attraction.
Some people might ask why I didn’t mention “The Secret” in the this list, as it is by far the most popular outlet for the law of attraction. The truth is that I’m not a big fan of “The Secret” and I don’t recommend it for most people. I’m a supporter of the law of attraction, but I warn you to be careful and to learn all you can. You can change your life for the better or worse. Choose wisely. The power and the responsibility are yours.
